Bankside is celebrating one of the most extraordinary events in London’s history - between 1605 and 1814, the surface of the River Thames froze over 24 times so Londoners took to the ice creating “Frost Fairs”. This winter Bankside has reinvented the Frost Fair for the 21st century with innovative augmented reality installations, street art trails, special Frost Fair themed food and drink and inspired workshops - running until 31 January.

Each restaurant is unique but all telling the same story. You’ll find incredible Italian food, sourced with respect, prepared with love and expertly cooked.

    About Macellaio RC

    Macellaio’s steak is butchered in front of you and artisan breads, focaccia, pizza and pissa are cooked in-house by their chefs. All their steak comes from the Fassona breed from some very special mountain valleys north of Genoa: every farmer knows the animal he sells, every cut of meat is hung for the right amount of time: 6-8 weeks for steak, up to 10 days for tuna. Even the pissa dough is allowed to rise for 90 hours to give great flavour and incredible texture.

  • Competition closes at 23:59 on Sunday 22 January 2023.
  • On Monday 23 January 2023, one winner will be selected at random to win an aperitivo for two at one of Macellaio RC’s locations.
  • The aperitivo includes 4 oysters and a 125ml glass of Ferrari Brut per person.
  • Prize can be redeemed until 31 August 2023, subject to availability.
  • The winner must reply by 5pm on Wednesday 25 January 2023 otherwise Uber Boat by Thames Clippers reserves the right to offer the prize to an alternative winner.
  • The winner will also receive two River Roamer tickets for all-day unlimited travel with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers to redeem within 12 months.
  • Winner's details may be shared with Macellaio RC in order to award the prize.
  • Prize is not transferable to another individual and not exchangeable for cash.
