Shakespeare's Globe is a faithful recreation of William Shakespeare’s iconic Globe Theatre, which was established on a nearby site in 1599. Stepping inside Shakespeare's Globe feels like travelling back in time to the Elizabethan playhouse. Expert guides bring the extraordinary open-air theatre to life on a guided tour, with colourful stories of the original theatre.

Swan at The Globe, the theatre's on-site pub, offers an enchanting traditional afternoon tea, with a Shakespearean twist inspired by Shakespeare’s plays such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo & Juliet. To this day, Shakespeare's Globe still hosts live performances of The Bard's work, in the setting he intended it to be viewed.

Currently, spectacular performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream, As You Like It, The Tempest and Romeo & Juliet are scheduled to be performed in this breath-taking theatrical space, and you could win tickets to view one of them!

About the Shakespeare’s Globe experience

The winner's visit will include a 50 minute guided tour, followed by a Shakespearean afternoon tea with a selection of finger sandwiches, warm scones and delicious sweet delicacies with names such as 'Oberon’s Contempt', 'Bittersweet Lips' and 'Here in Heaven', served from tiered stands and beautiful bespoke crockery decorated with illustrations inspired by Shakespeare's plays. The winner will also receive matinee tickets to a play of their choice.

Throughout the year Guided Tours depart Tuesday to Sunday. The Swan is situated next to the Globe and serves an eclectic menu with seasonal specials, afternoon tea, weekend brunch, coffees and cocktails. The Globe Summer Season runs from the 19 May to 30 October, with tickets starting from £5.

  • Competition closes at 23:59 on Sunday 13 June 2021.
  • One winner will be selected on Monday 14 June to receive two tickets for a tour of Shakespeare's Globe, an Afternoon Tea Experience, a matinee performance and two River Roamer tickets.
  • The winner must reply by Wednesday 16 June 2021 to redeem their prize; otherwise Uber Boat by Thames Clippers reserves the right to offer the prize to an alternative winner. 
  • The winner will be issued a code to book their experience with Shakespeare’s Globe Ticketing & Sales Team
  • The code can only be redeemed Tuesday to Sunday and must be booked and taken by 30 October 2021
  • Performance tickets cannot be guaranteed for a specific date and performance.
  • The winner will also receive two Adult River Roamer tickets for all-day unlimited travel with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers.
    • River Roamer voucher is valid for one year from issuing date.
    •  Voucher must be redeemed for a River Roamer ticket either at booking.thamesclippers.com or at a staffed Uber Boat by Thames Clippers Ticket Office.
    • River Roamer tickets are not valid on River Bus Express services for events at The O2.
  • Prize is not transferable to another individual and not exchangeable for cash
