Greenland Pier is on the south bank of the River Thames, in the Surrey Quays area of Southwark. The pier is located immediately next to Greenland Dock and South Dock marinas.

Our first River Bus service departed Greenland Pier for Savoy Pier on 24 May 1999, two decades later and Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is still providing Surrey Quays residents with a fast, convenient connection to the City for work and leisure.

Tickets can be bought at ticket machines at the pier before travel, but to save time and money touch in and out with your Oyster or contactless card. You can also buy your tickets online or use the Uber app or the Thames Clippers Tickets app.

Stave Hill Ecological Park

Following the Surrey Commercial Docks' closure in the 1970s, Russia Dock, which was originally used for importing timber from Russia and Scandinavia, was transformed into a woodland providing habitats for many native species. Russia Dock Woodland contains many surviving dock features including sections of the dock's retaining walls and mooring chains. 

Stave Hill is an artificial hill to the west of Russia Dock Woodland which was created using waste and rubble and forms part of an ecology park. The park hosts a number of habitats that are intensively managed to conserve the wide variety of wildlife that lives in the area. From the top of Stave Hill, you can enjoy panoramic views of London.
