Sky’s the limit
Sail and skate in the capital
Sail and skate in the capital
In honour of Team GB’s 13-year-old bronze medal-winning skateboarder, we have installed dedicated skateboard storage on board its aptly named Sky (Brown) Clipper.
Hop on-board, safely stow your skateboard and head to London Eye (Waterloo) Pier, just a short walk – or skate – from London’s iconic Southbank Skatepark. Don’t bail on the sightseeing along the way. Make like Sky Brown and go for gold with a full three 360 to take in all the famous landmarks along the River Bus route.
As well as London’s Southbank, there are many skateparks across the capital. From London Eye (Waterloo) Pier, sail east to Tower Pier and skate across the world-famous bridge to White Grounds Skatepark, hidden away between the arches of the railway bridge, or Hop Kingdom for an indoor option. Back on board, glide past the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf and disembark at Masthouse Terrace Pier for a session at the multi-level plaza at Mudchute Skatepark; or sail on past The O2 to Woolwich (Royal Arsenal) Pier for Woolwich Skatepark, set right on the bank of the Thames.
Uber Boat by Thames Clippers ticket prices start from just £4.60 for an adult sailing in the East or West Zone (based on payments made using Oyster, contactless payment cards or booked online or through the app). Families can set sail with an Uber Boat by Thames Clippers’ Family River Roamer for just £36.70 (online or via the app); an all-day hop-on hop-off ticket with access to 23 piers across London, valid for two adults and up to three children (15 years and under; 4s and under travel for free as standard).
