You can travel direct between Tate Britain at Millbank Pier and Tate Modern at Bankside Pier with our RB2 Tate to Tate service. It runs every 40 minutes, seven days a week from 9am to 7pm. For exact times see the timetable.

What can you expect to see at Tate Britain?

Tate Britain holds the largest collection of British art in the world from 1500 to the present day. The collection is free and you’ll find masterpieces by Gainsborough, Hogarth, Millais and Whistler, as well as outstanding contemporary artists such as Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, and Damien Hirst. Tate Britain also hosts the largest collection of works by JMW Turner.

What can you expect to see at Tate Modern?

The finest display of international modern art in Britain, housed in the former Bankside Power Station transformed by architects Herzog & De Meuron. Entrance to the permanent collection and Turbine Hall is free. Tate Modern also holds world-acclaimed temporary exhibitions as well as an extensive children’s programme.
