Light Up The Ladies Bridge

On the evenings of 22-24 September sail underneath Waterloo Bridge as it is filled with live performances and large scale photographic projections to celebrate the 24,000 female construction workers who re-built the bridge during WWII. Hop off the boat at Embankment pier and wander across the bridge to BFI Southbank where, on Thursday 22 September, there is a free film screening and panel discussion about the women.

The Singing Bridge by Claudia Molitor

Disembark at Embankment for Somerset House to experience The Singing Bridge, a newly commissioned sound work for Waterloo Bridge by Claudia Molitor, from 9-25 September. Collect a headset from Somerset House to begin your 40 minute musical experience that features new compositions by Molitor, with contributions from drum and synth duo AK/DK, folk band Stick in the Wheel and poet SJ Fowler. The Singing Bridge weaves you along Waterloo Bridge and its surrounding paths to give you time and space to consider your relationship to this bridge and its environs

Floating Dreams by Ik-Joong Kang

Until Friday 30 September the river will be home to a major light installation from the South Korean artist. Constructed from 500 drawings and illuminated from within, passengers can brighten up their evenings and get close to the three-storey-high lantern structure as it sits in the centre of the river by the Millennium Bridge, near Bankside pier.
