Every MBNA card is packed with clever stuff, like contactless technology, and secure technology so they can be used safely online and on the high street.

MBNA has a range of different credit cards, including balance transfer cards and money transfer credit cards with competitive offers. They also provide cards with promotional or low rates that could help with spreading the costs of large and everyday things.

How MBNA help deliver frequent and fast travel on the Thames

Over since 1999, Thames Clippers has become an essential part of London life, and the Mayor’s River Action Plan aims to double passenger traffic by 2020. That’s where MBNA can help. Working together, we’re committed to making travel on the Thames frequent and fast. By the end of 2017, over 38m passengers will have travelled on the MBNA Thames Clippers river bus service.

In partnership, we have:

  • Expanded the fleet. In October 2015, two new boats – Galaxy Clipper and Neptune Clipper – were added to the fleet, and another two will follow in summer 2017.
  • Introduced new contactless terminals: From May 2016, passengers have been able to touch in and out with a contactless card or device across the whole of the MBNA Thames Clippers network.
  • Improved services on board at our piers: A range of improvements have been delivered, including changes to the look of the piers, clearer signage, better provision of live river bus information, and extensions to Bankside and Westminster piers to create extra capacity.
  • Made memorable moments: We gave out over 4,000 prizes ranging from on-board drinks to season tickets to lucky passengers who tapped out with a contactless card. 
  • Created the UK’s first floating fan zone: During the international football tournament in June 2016, we transformed a Clipper into a unique floating fan zone, where fans could watch matches and enjoy a host of football-themed experiences and events. It also coincided with the 50th anniversary of England winning the 1966 World Cup and helped the National Football Museum launch its exhibition celebrating this iconic sporting moment.
