What can I expect to see at Tate Britain and Tate Modern?

Tate Britain is home to an inspiring display of British art through the years; from the Tudor Monarchs to the Romantics (Blake, Constable and Turner) and up to today's vibrant scene. Tate Modern showcases the finest international modern art. Each floor covers a different theme; Material Gestures (including Monet, Kapoor, Rothko); Poetry and Dream (including Dali, Bacon, Sherman, Wearing); Idea and Object (including Andre, Le Witt, Creed, Flavin) and States of Flux (including Picasso, Lichenstein and Warhol).

When does the service run?

Our service runs every 40 minutes seven days a week approximately 10.00-17.00. The latest daily departure from Tate Britain (Millbank Pier) is at 17.10 connecting the Tate service with the scheduled commuter route.

How much does it cost?

A single journey costs £5. Season ticket holders, students, Travelcard holders, Freedom Pass holders and children are eligible for a reduced rate. Alternatively, purchase a River Roamer ticket for £12 which allows passengers unlimited hop-on hop-off for a day's travel between QEII Pier (plus Royal Arsenal Woolwich Pier at weekends) and Millbank Pier from 10.00 to 22.00 Monday to Sunday. A Family River Roamer ticket is also available for £25. (One pass is valid for up to 2 adults and 3 children).

What other benefits are there?

Our high speed catamarans are luxurious to travel on. The seating areas are spacious, comfortable and climate controlled plus all passengers are guaranteed a seat. The stunning riverside views of London's many landmarks can be appreciated from wherever you sit, so choose from individual seats in the centre of the cabin or relax in the couch area by the windows. Weather permitting passengers are welcome to enjoy the deck at the back of the vessel. Onboard you will find a great ambience, helpful staff, an all day snack and refreshment menu, newspapers, toilet facilities and plasma screens. Tickets can be easily purchased onboard, on piers or buy online.
