Some of the most famous cultural, historical, educational and entertaining attractions in the world are situated on the River Thames. Below is a list of piers on our route as well as some of the attractions in each area. All attractions listed are either located on the riverbank itself or just a short walk from the pier.

London Eye

At 135 metres, the London Eye is the world's tallest observation wheel, with 40 kilometre panoramic views on a clear day. The gradual flight in one of the 32 glass capsules takes approximately 30 minutes offering spectacular views of London and its famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and St Paul's Cathedral.

Tower Bridge

TOWER BRIDGE EXHIBITION Enjoy breath-taking views from the fully accessible high-level walkways, learn about the history of the Bridge and visit the Victorian Engine Rooms which are home to the original steam engines that used to power the Bridge lifts. INSIDER TIP: The bridge is raised about 1000 times a year. An amazing spectacle, plan your visit to coincide with one.

Royal Naval College

Christopher Wren's wonderful baroque buildings were erected 300 years ago as the Greenwich Hospital, a home for veteran sailors. Before this, Greenwich Palace, home of the Tudor sovereigns, stood here. The Hospital became a naval college in 1873, a role which lasted for 125 years. Today the magnificent Painted Hall and Chapel are open daily. The University of Greenwich and Trinity College of Music occupy other buildings and the University's Stephen Lawrence Gallery is open to the public.

Tower of London

The ancient stones reverberate with dark secrets, priceless jewels glint in fortified vaults and ravens strut the grounds. The Tower of London, founded by William the Conqueror in 1066-7, holds some of the most remarkable stories from across the centuries. Despite a grim reputation as a place of torture and death, this powerful and enduring fortress has been enjoyed as a royal palace, served as an armoury and for a number of years even housed a zoo!

Proud2

In line with their tradition of taking on iconic venues, making them relevant to new audiences, Proud Group is set to redesign and reopen The O2 superclub, matter, as Proud2. Following an extensive renovation of the current industrial-style interior, the venue will be transformed into a decadent, glamorous nightspot that will run sensational weekend club nights and circus-themed productions.

Menier Chocolate Factory

We're not a factory and we don't make chocolate... but we do produce some of the most exciting and innovative theatre in town. Whether world premieres of new writing or lavish revivals of classic musicals, there is something in the programme to suit all theatrical tastes. Rose Theatre Exhibition

The Rose, built in 1587, was the first Elizabethan Theatre on Bankside and was where Shakespeare learnt his craft. Shakespeare's Globe Exhibition also offers tours of the nearby Rose Theatre site to pre-booked groups and during matinee performances throughout its theatre season. Borough Market

Great Britain's finest gourmet food market has been voted by Londoners as their favourite shopping experience. Borough Market offers specialities directly from the producers, organic products, delicatessen, cheese, wines, fish and imported continental fare. If you're not familiar with the produce on the stalls, or you're not sure how to cook it, just ask: the traders will be delighted to tell you about their specialities, where they come from and how to make the most of them. The London Bridge Experience and The London Tombs

Experience historical London with Romans, Vikings and the odd pickpocket or two! Quoted the scariest attraction in England by Living TV's Most Haunted, London's newest attraction, The London Bridge Experience and the London Tombs are set in the historic surroundings of the tombs under the London Bridge.
