Thames Clippers launch commuter designed
iPhone app

Available for free download now

Using the river to get around London is about to get even simpler with Thames Clippers, who are delighted to announce the launch of their new iPhone application created by regular commuter, Charlie Seligman, and available for free download now.

The Thames Clippers app is a 'dynamic timetable' allowing passengers to access pier-specific service schedules. The application was created by Docklands resident and regular Thames Clippers user, Charlie Seligman. Charlie, who works for an IT Consultancy firm near Tower Bridge, has been using the commuter service for two years and developed the app as a quicker means to access the Thames Clippers timetable from his iPhone.

Charlie is delighted at the application's success - nearly 2000 Thames Clippers commuters have downloaded it so far - and had so much fun making it he set up his own app development and distribution business. He commented, "I am thrilled that my app has been picked up and will be available to other commuters. I've used the Thames Clippers since the first day I became aware of them - I bought a monthly season ticket after my first trip and have never looked back."

Any Thames Clippers users interested in having a chat with Charlie can find him using the service daily. He says, "I've been approached by a couple of people who recognise me from the app. The other day I was on a Thames Clipper and a group of tourists sat opposite me were looking at the app. One of them looked up, recognised me and asked if they could take a photograph of me next to the app on their iPhone. It was all very funny, if a little surreal."

The app is just one of the ways that Thames Clippers are making river travel easier. Now that Oyster pay as you go is accepted for travel, and passengers can take advantage of Wi-Fi and Costa Coffee on board, there has never been a more flexible way to see London in the comfort of a guaranteed seat.
