Thames Clippers has great pleasure in announcing the arrival of the first four new vessels from their builders in Australia. They recently arrived by ship.
These vessels are a 'Mark 2' version of the Hurricane Clipper, with modifications that will not only enhance the customer experience, but will provide an increased from our current maximum carrying capacity during peak periods of over 100%. The onboard cafe/bars will be operated by a team of dedicated catering professionals, which will provide a high quality onboard service, ensuring maximum passenger comfort and convenience.
In addition to the arrival of our new vessels, Thames Clippers has successfully tendered for the route currently operated by Catamaran Cruisers' Embankment to Greenwich off-peak business for a period of six months. If we are successful in the main tendering process, we will be operating this route for a further ten years. This means that we are operating both our peak commuter service and our off-peak daytime service from Embankment Pier instead of Savoy Pier, Tower Pier instead of St. Katharine's Pier and with a Greenwich extension during the off-peak daytime service (in addition to our current peak commuter service). These pier changes ensure greater amenities for our passengers such as tickets booths, allowing the majority of tickets to be bought before boarding.
Finally, from 15 November, the there will be an increased frequency and duration of our commuter service. This will be incorporated into The 02 service and will operate every 15 minutes during peak commuter periods.
Over the coming months, we will continue to keep you up to date with any further developments and progression as we continue to expand our fleet. In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you all for your continued loyalty and support.
