Our Fleet

Thames Clippers operates a fleet of 13 high-speed catamarans. It is maritime tradition to give a fleet connected names and ours has a strong weather-related link.

Hurricane Clipper – River Runner 200 Mark 2

This 220 seater has an outside deck and travels at a speed of up to 28 knots. Hurricane has carried a number of famous politicians including Tony Blair, Ken Livingston, John Prescott and ex-Australian Prime Minister, John Howard. Michael Palin also travelled on Hurricane while filming one of his BBC programmes.

Meteor, Monsoon, Cyclone, Tornado, Typhoon and Aurora Clippers – River Runner 200 Mark 2B

Our fleet has six of these comfortable 220 seater catamarans which can travel at up to 28 knots, are 38 meters in length and have an outside rear deck. Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni travelled on Aurora during an official visit to London in 2008.

Sun and Moon Clippers – River Runner 150

At 32 meters in length, Sun and Moon hold 138 passengers and can travel at a speed of up to 25 knots.

Storm, Sky and Star Clippers – FBM Hydrocat

The Queen has travelled on the Star Clipper from Lambeth to Chelsea Harbour. A little smaller at 25 meters long, they seat 62 and travel at a speed of up to 25 knots.

Twin Star

Twin Star carries passengers between Canary Wharf Pier and the Hilton Docklands Nelson Dock Pier at the Hilton Hotel in Rotherhithe. The ferry can seat up to 120.

Thames Flyer

The Thames Flyer has played host to several performers at The O2 including the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and the Eagles.

The stylish and spacious seating in the indoor cabin offers excellent views of the river and can accommodate up to 12 guests. A champagne and canapés service is also available.
